A bit about me
Where I come from: I
am form Los Angeles and although the city of Los Angeles itself is quite
bustling the street I grew up on was quite the opposite. To get to my house
(the house I have lived in my entire life) you take a long winding narrow
street up into the hills of Hollywood until you reach Belfast Drive. The
residents of Belfast Drive have all lived in their houses for at least twenty
years, so our neighborhood is oddly close. All the kids grew up together and we
often have neighborhood gatherings. Growing up I thought everyone had the same
neighborly experience that I did but quickly learned that our street was quite
unique in that way. Where I’m going: I
would like to work in marketing or advertising for an entertainment company but
above all else I would just like to be happy. How I plan to get there: Hopefully my past experience working at
various studios, agencies and production companies will make me seem knowledgeable
enough, but if anyone has any good ideas let me know. How I am like my parents: Apparently, I look like a perfect
combination of both of my parents. Although I may look like both of them, I may
as well be a carbon copy of my dad personality wise. How I am unlike my parents: My parents are much more patient than I
am. Personal expectations: I have
impossibly high standards that I always strive to reach and I would like to say
that I do reach those expectations but there are also plenty of times when I do
not but I always try to learn from my failures. Model: My mother is my role model and I aspire to be half the business
woman and mother she is. Animal:
Easy. Giraffes are by far my favorite animals and some would even say I have a
mild obsession with them. I have loved them ever since I was a little girl and
over the years I have collected an obscene amount of giraffe souvenirs. I love
them because of their grace and beauty but also because of their gentleness and
compassion. Encounter with a tree: My
parents front yard is filled with a type of tree called a melaleuca. Melaleuca
trees are very odd trees as their bark is a sort of spongey and soft
consistency and they are constantly peeling. I always associate melaleucas with
my childhood and they hold a special place in my heart. (picture for reference)
I love giraffes too! My grandma helped pick out my middle name, which in Korean refers to the grace and majesty of giraffes, really similar to the qualities you have listed.
ReplyDeleteI love how you have such a fascination with giraffes. They're such cool animals and incredibly majestic in the wild. I like that you not only appreciate them for their physical appearance, but their personality traits as well. I hope you've been to Malibu Wine Safari and met Stanley the Giraffe! If not, I highly recommend!!
ReplyDeleteGenevieve, throughout the last few years at USC, I got amazed to compare the stories and life anecdotes from the peers that grew up in Los Angeles and elsewhere, either it be a different state or country. Your childhood story of you growing up in a neighborhood full of warm people reminded me of my childhood. I also like the melaleuca tree picture, it has both the simplicity and complexity of the plant in one shot.
ReplyDeleteI want to work in marketing/advertising for an entertainment company as well! Is there a specific one you want to work for?
